# Dark Fantasy — Safety & Consent Guide

## Core Principles

Dark Fantasy products are for consensual adult use only. We follow the SSC (Safe, Sane, Consensual) and RACK (Risk-Aware Consensual Kink) frameworks.

## Essential Safety Rules

1. **Always establish a safe word** before any scene. Common choices: "Red" (stop), "Yellow" (slow down), "Green" (continue).
2. **Check circulation every 15–20 minutes** when using restraints. Two-finger rule: always maintain 2-finger clearance inside any restraint.
3. **Never leave a restrained person alone**. Someone must be present and capable of release at all times.
4. **Keep safety shears (EMT scissors) within reach** during any bondage scene. Our Scene Safety Shears ($25) can cut through any of our products instantly.
5. **No alcohol or impairment** during scenes involving restraint.
6. **Negotiate scenes in advance**: discuss limits, desires, and safe words before play begins.

## Product-Specific Safety

### Restraints (Cuffs, Ropes, Spreader Bars)
- Maximum continuous use: 30–45 minutes for beginners
- Check hands/feet for color (should remain pink, not blue or white)
- Tingling or numbness = release immediately
- For rope: learn proper ties before use on a partner

### Collars
- Always maintain 2-finger clearance at throat
- Never attach leash to collar and leave unattended
- Locking collars: keep key accessible at all times

### Impact Play (Paddles, Floggers, Crops)
- Start very light; build intensity gradually
- Avoid kidneys, spine, neck, and joints
- Check skin condition between strokes for beginners

### Sensory Tools (Blindfolds, Pinwheels, Temperature)
- Communicate continuously during sensory deprivation
- Temperature play: test wax temperature on inner arm first
- Pinwheels: clean with isopropyl alcohol between uses

## Emergency Procedures

If a scene must stop immediately:
1. Say the safe word (or use pre-agreed signal)
2. Remove restraints immediately — cut if necessary
3. Provide aftercare: warm blanket, water, physical comfort
4. Check for marks, redness, numbness — seek medical attention if needed

## Aftercare

Aftercare is the post-scene care that helps both partners return to a normal state. Common aftercare includes:
- Physical closeness and warmth
- Water and light snacks
- Verbal affirmation and emotional reassurance
- Time to decompress without pressure
